QA Programme

The QA/QC programmes for the three BEQUALM self-funded scheme components include:

1. Training workshops - these will be arranged by the lead laboratory if deemed necessary for a particular technique
2. Intercalibration exercises - participants will receive relevant reference material, protocols and data sheet templates and will be requested to conduct the assays and report the results to the lead laboratory within a specified time scale.
3. Production of reports - depending on the nature of the programme, one or more reports will be produced summarising the results of the intercalibration exercise(s) and laboratories (coded) will be flagged as having passed or failed the QC criteria.
4. Workshops - one or more of the components may also organise workshops as a forum for discussions regarding e.g. intercalibration exercises results, problems with methodology, sharing of scientific/technical knowledge.
