Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and EROD Intercalibration

An intercalibration for Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and EROD will be conducted during 2024 and 2025. These intercalibration exercises will be a collaboration between BEQUALM, the ICES expert working group for the Biological Effects of Contaminants (WGBEC), and the EU Horizon project, CONTRAST: Contaminants of emerging concern: An integrated approach for assessing impacts on the marine environment. 

The primary objective of the AChE intercalibration will be to investigate incorporating it into the broader BEQUALM programme, and the optimisation of how AChE intercalibrations will be conducted under BEQUALM in future years. If you are interested in participating, please email us at
