NMBAQC

The National Marine Biological Analytical Quality Control Scheme (NMBAQC) was initiated in the UK in 1994, with the aim of providing a form of QA and QC for the data resulting from the UK National Marine Monitoring Plan (NMMP). The aim is to assess of the reliability of data collected as part of the NMMP and, more generally, to improve the standards of marine biology in the UK

The scheme organises and operates a suite of exercises including intercalibration exercises (ring-tests), 'own sample'analysis, sediment particle size methodology, biomass estimation and regularly holds workshops on sampling techniques, data comparison and taxonomy.
